What other people are saying:

"Corey has been quietly dealing with this book for a couple of months on the side and it shows. He's got something very good here and it's interesting to see where DM's and players take this. The PC creation is as fast as B/X and there are a few interesting options. The inclusion of fire arms into a setting makes this a gritty and interesting choice for a DM who wants a fast pick up Old West Style game. This game could emulate everything from 1950's Westerns to the gritty neo Gothic of Dark Tower by Stephen King." — Eric Fabiaschi: Sword & Stitchery

"I've tried several of the wild west games out there (Coyote Trail, Shotguns and Saddles, Blood & Bullets, Boot Hill, Wild West Cinema, and others I am likely forgetting) but [Tombstone] really works for me. I love the simplicity and how easy it is to add house rules to. I'm greatly looking forward to the finished product. I really like the game and can't wait to see it in the finished form. I liked it enough that I ordered the actual print book after we played. I'm even considering running this for my regular face to face group a week from Sunday." — Jim Santagate

"The rules are very simple and straightforward. The author included two methods for char generation, one is “Quick Play characters” which I used. This process is very fast and uses archetypes (like the Indian Brave, the Gambler or the Soldier) which ensure a bit of niche protection. The basic roll of 3d6 is a neat departure from the standard d20 and balances around an average. As promised by the author in his introduction, the game plays quite fast and combat is very deadly. All in all, I really like the content." — Sophia Brandt: Die Heart

Worth getting for the Town and Wilderness Excitement Tables and the Debauchery Table. I may well use these in Deadlands.

Check out my full review on Comics, Clerics, & Controllers on Facebook. An utterly fantastic game that I hope to see grow.

Just remembered this one ... *lol* what's up with all those fake reviews when nothing happens with the game itself?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
