Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG

You’re no hero.

You’re an adventurer: a reaver, a cutpurse, a heathen-slayer, a tight-lipped warlock guarding long-dead secrets. You seek gold and glory, winning it with sword and spell, caked in the blood and filth of the weak, the dark, the demons, and the vanquished. There are treasures to be won deep underneath, and you shall have them.

Return to the glory days of fantasy with the Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game. Adventure as 1974 intended you to, with modern rules grounded in the origins of sword & sorcery.

Lucky sign--seventh son--does not seem to affect the spell check.

Hi, Cleric sheet Strength doesn't seem to change the modifiers or melee damage boxes - any fix?

Looks like the Elf sheet is not advancing the attack modifier with level. At level 3, the elf sheet still reports an attack modifier of 1, when it should be a 2, and so on.

I'm having trouble with the Elf sheet. Doesn't seem to have any of the automatic stuff working. Change title or level, nothing.

I bought this to help me update my DCC character in a hurry before last night's game. The Cleric character sheet worked for once I figured out a couple things through trial and error. It's probably worth noting in the production description a couple of important gotchas.

First, you have to use Adobe Acrobat Reader for the forms to work correctly. I tried Apple's built-in Preview app first, and the calculations wouldn't happen.

Second, you can't save your work. At least with the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader that I used, there was a big warning on the screen that said that I can print the sheet, but not save the values of the fields. So that means that when I want to update it (like when my Cleric levels up), I'm going to have to start over and enter everything again from scratch. That kinda sucks.

Yeah. I’ll see if there’s some work arounds on saving with freeware, but yes they do need the scripting that Adobe products provide.

Thanks for the heads up and testing, Todd. Issues with saving should be fixed.

I noticed that while putting in Attributes into the pdf that it would give +1 modifiers starting from 9.

Example = Strength 9 --> +1 mod

Is there a way to edit that?

Let me double check the logic. I think I have some other bug fixes to push up as well. Thanks for the report.

Hmm. I'm not seeing that on the sheets I checked. Could you tell me which sheet it was?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
