Solomon Guild: A Gallery of Rogues Part I

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Look. I'll be honest. This book/pdf does not sell well for me. Maybe I'm bad at marketing text. I don't know.

But this is one of the best things I've ever written. It's smart, filled with great data, and the NPCs are all stand out designs. The relationship mapping inside this book is unlike anything ever done before. It's not just a book of 35 NPCs, it's an entire roadmap for a criminal organization in a fantasy game.

Honestly. I'm a little hurt you've not picked this up yet.

Breathe in. Let it out. Focus. You can do this, jim. You're a champ.

•••

A vast network of thieves, rogues, assassins and con-men that live in a city with townsfolk who feel powerless to change anything.

This sandbox sourcebook has everything the players need to join or fight the Solomon Guild. Hone your skills in blackmail, bribery, coercion and extortion to join their ranks, or fight against the guild in an uphill battle that will push players into almost certain death.

Included within are 35 Criminals (not just thieves) operating within a crafted guild structure perfect for old and new school fantasy gaming.

• 35 completely fleshed out and developed NPCs with stat blocks for 1st ed, 3.5, and Fate.

• Complete rundown of the day to day workings of the guild

• Complete description of the guild hierarchy

• Complete and complex relationship maps for all NPCs.

• A wealth of plot hooks

• A vast network of conspiracies running through the fantasy city, including ties to two future books.

• Numberous maps of the city and underground tunnel system

• A 35-page cheat sheet PDF for ease of tracking the characters in the guild.

• Art by Eric Lofgren

This is one of the most in-depth, comprehensive looks into a criminal organization that gaming has ever seen.

Note: The print version of the book is not available presently. The document formatting is being cleaned up and the information updated for 2020.

All Protocol Games are 100% GMless, require almost no preperation time, and use the same game system. There are over 50 games in the series, which means there HAS to be something here for you.

Hi Jim. I was reading through my Kickstarter copy of this today and noticed the reference to the Warlocks of the Ebon Tower on page 30. I just wondered if you still had plans to release (or Kickstart) that book? Thanks.

I own a hard copy of this book purchased during the Kickstarter campaign. Since the purchase was not made through Drive Thru RPG I am unable to post under the “Reviews” tab; if I were this product would easily earn five stars. I have always been astounded as to why this book is not more popular. The layout is sublime, the content is top notch and the artwork brings these characters to life. The book is a detailed, thorough, and invaluable resource whether you need a quick scoundrel NPC or you want to embed a vast criminal underworld into your campaign.

Frustrating the a 256 page pdf doesn't have bookmarks and is locked so that none can be added.

Yeah. I hear you on that. I made this pdf a long time ago, before I learned to make bookmarks. And I don't know why it's locked. I think rpgnow locks them.

Perhaps it has to do with the watermark, I don't know. However, I do know that I can add bookmarks to _some_ of the pdfs I purchase from here.

I appreciate that you responded, and not defensively. Thanks.

I'm still digging in and pondering how to implement the guild into the city atop a megadungeon thing I'm writing (for play). If I had an unlocked pdf I would bookmark it and send it back to you so that you could update the product. I've done that for at least one other publisher (though it wasn't on drivethru, it was Burgs & Bailiffs: Trinity).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
