Dungeon World Playbooks: Wrath of the Wild [Bundle]

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Wrath of the Wild contains nine playbooks of player classes for Dungeon World that has cover art done by Wesley Fraser. Wrath of the Wild features classes that comprise the creatures who live and thrive off of the land and protect it from those who would defile it. You can now have an entire party comprised of such heroes that will protect Gaia from harm.

The Animist: A spell caster who draws strength and inspiration from the animals of the world. With a beastly amount of summoning and buffs, the Animist can work through most obstacles they can encounter.

The Centaur: The infamous half-horse, half-man legend is paradoxically a drunken raider and a stalwart guardian against true evil. You can trample over foes and perform lighting fast raids, making off with others or destroying their fields. The centaur excels at hit and run tactics but is more than capable of standing their own in a fight.

The Dryad: A plant entity that can turn into trees and manipulate mortals. You have an interesting blend of stealth and manipulation that you use to resolve your problems, charming onlookers and hiding amongst plants. When that doesn’t work, you’ll have to rely on wood claws and poisons vine tendrils to get you out of a mess.

The Grovecaster: The counterpart to the Animist, you are a spell caster who draws on the plants of the world for your magic. You have an excellent toolbox of utility spells and powers at your disposal that are only limited by your creativity of them. From giving the air a pleasant rose smell to awakening entire forests as an army of angry trees, your magic has a wide range of powers to better serve you.

The Kami: You are needy nature spirit in need of constant worship. You provide your blessings onto the party and hindrance to those who oppose you. However, when angered, you are consumed by a terrible wrath where friend is as likely a target as foe. This class is quite dissimilar to most Dungeon World classes and works majorly through support and has a more complex set of rules to represent the strange entity that the Kami is. I wouldn’t recommend the class for new players without giving it a through and careful read first.

The Satyr: You a member of the race of half-goat people who are infamously obsessed with partying. You party better than any other adventurer on the face of the earth. You can get Drinking Buddies who join you at your parties and who befriend you on your quests. You are also a feisty fighter, getting more rambunctious the more intoxicated you become.

The Squirrelmancer: You are a deranged hermit obsessed with squirrels. It’s unclear how you achieved such a feat, but you have dominance over the squirrels in the world. As unorthodox as your powers are, you use them to terrifying effect. Your hordes of furry minions protect you, drown enemies in waves of tiny teeth and claws, or to carry out the orders you give them.

The Treefolk: You are a living tree. A might towering entity that can crush men with their wooden fists and lifting huge objects to wield as weapon or to throw at your enemies. You can disguise yourself as normal tree and awaken other trees as treefolks to join you in battle.

The Wrath: You are the chosen herald of Mother Gaia to bear here wrath and destroy her enemies. You are filled with her maternal rage. You deal punishment to those who would stand your way and even worse to those who defile nature. You can conscript animals to your cause, blast foes with bolts of pure energy, and draw magic from Gaia to wipe out your enemies.

Hi there! I am about to have my very first Dungeon World session, and I was going to be rolling a druid...until I started reading about this bundle. I LOVE the sound of some of these. Is there any way I could get a sample of one of these classes, just to get an idea of the flavor? I have only really ever seen the cannon/original class playbooks, so I don't know what to expect from a third party publisher. I'd love to get a preview of how the Dryad works, for example. But yeah, they all sound amazing and I can see my self enjoying every one of these classes if they play out in reality how they do in my head! Looking forward to your reply :D

PURCHASER
The Kami has quite a few moves that say enemies get a -1 forward. In Dungeon World the GM doesn't roll anything, so is this meant to be for damage rolls only, or is it meant to only affect other player characters when the Kami has Kami's Wrath?

PUBLISHER
It's meant to affect both enemies's damage rolls (or possibly Armor, as forwards have been known to affect Armor, whichever comes into play first) and player character's when the Kami has Kami's Wrath. Sorry I didn't get to you sooner.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
