The Ghoul Well

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Duke Karios is suspected of murdering his wife and illicit lover, Sir Callimus of Veldere. A wealthy nobleman, Sir Callimus’ father,

has hired the PCs to retrieve the desecrated bodies of the slain lovers and to bring back proof that Duke Karios was involved.

The PCs descend upon a tiny island named Gob’s Crag to execute this mission. Little do they know the varieties of bloodthirsty Goblins that await anyone that threatens their island. At the heart of the island is an old wishing well that is now the lair of various Goblins and Ghouls. Are the PCs resourceful enough and hearty enough to vanquish the denizens of Gob’s Crag Island?

It is time to find out…

THE GHOUL WELL is a short, 15-page Pathfinder-Compatible adventure (11 pages actual contant) for 3-6 LEVEL 1 PCs.

This adventure has been designed to be played in ONE, 3-6 hour night or gaming session.

This is PART 1 of a 3 PART ASCENDING SERIES.

Additionally, this taking place on an island surrounded by a nameless ocean makes it ideal to be

ABLE TO FIT INTO ALMOST ANY CAMPAIGN, SETTING, WORLD or GEOGRAPHY.

____________________________________________________________________________

With all of that said, would you like to try this 15-page adventure with 11 pages of usable content/material weighing in at less than .10 cents per page?!? This adventure, is summed up thusly:

____________________________________________________________________________

• 1 Monster PLAYER HANDOUT

• 2 Maps: 1 PLAYER/GM MAP and 1 GM Map

• 5 Excellent Interior Illustrations by Rick Hershey

• Can Be STANDALONE or Part 1 of 3 in a Series

• Skeletons, Zombies, Ghouls, a Lacedon and MANY New/Different Types of Goblins

• A Loose Difficulty Rating Would be a 6 Out Of 10, Not Too Hard, But NOT A “Gimme”

• A Two-part Quest For PCs, Find The Bodies of the Slain Lovers and Bring Back Proof That Duke Karios Killed Them

How To Painlessly Get Newbies to Try Roleplaying Games?

Have you ever wanted a good friend or family member to try playing roleplaying games,

but for whatever reason, they would decline every single time?

At the request of a GM that has playtested my first Pathfinder-Compatible adventure, Murder on Montellio,

he informed me that many (not all, but many) people nowadays have a shorter window or time frame to enjoy gaming sessions.

He suggested more frequent, shorter adventures for these types of people. After a bit of thought, (and I am sure this has been done before to some degree!) I decided to try a different formula. An experiment, so to speak, that is geared for two main purposes:

1. Short, Single STANDALONE Game Session Adventures

2. A Convenient Way to Get Newbies to Play and Hopefully Enjoy Roleplaying

Over the next few weeks, I came up with a flexible format and adventure idea:

A mini-series in which PART 1 is a short 10 Pages or so, but is still a full adventure and only .99 CENTS A POP.

That way, if someone tries the adventure and does NOT like it, they do not feel like they have lost much at all

and can “bow out” from playing the rest of the series.

BUT, if they DO like it, they have the option of going to PART 2, then PART 3 and so on.

Parts 2 could be UP TO 20 pages of material and Parts 3 could be UP TO 30 pages of material.

ALL 3 parts can be played as complete STANDALONE adventures, OR as part of a cohesive and

PROGRESSIVE SERIES.

TL/DR: Nice starter adventure for level 1 or 2 party that can be done in a single session, at a sweet price. A murder most foul. A baron gone mad with jealousy. An island full of danger for those who seek justice. A boat load of [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
