In the magus class features chart, there is an entry at 19th level for "Greater Spell Access" But no description any where in the title.

A "Extra Fiendish Extremity" feat is mentioned in the Wicked Mutations Evil Domain ability, but no such feat exists.

Thanks, Brendan. This is more of Alex's area, but I think the intent is to let tieflings choose the extremity they gain from this ability. I'll make a note of it.

This version of the Web spell lists the condition applied for a failure as "entangled". The original PF version says "grappled". Much of the verbiage for the spell in this version is almost directly from the PF spell description. Grappled vs. Entangled is quite different and Grappled is much more restrictive. So is it Entangled condition or Grappled condition?

Entangled is correct. Note that the character is also unable to move from the square unless they escape the web.

Under Technomancer spell list Web is listed at 1-3 level. However, in the spell description Technomancer is left off the Level listing.

That is a mistake in the Technomancer spells listing. Web should not be on their spell list. (Mystic, magus, and wizard are correct.)

It feels like the classes could do with making use of resolve more, tying more abilities to spending resolve points would be good.

The level 20 capstone for the wizard also feels a bit lack lustre compared to any of the core classes, something to show the mastery of magic would be better as a final capstone.

I also feel the wizard needs at least a couple more class skills, it's an intelligence based class which means most wizards will have 8 skill points at the start.

I'd suggest adding perception, medicine and computers to the list (computers because the class still uses a computer for its core abilities).

Finally, I'd consider granting the class a skill bonus to mysticism that scales at a similar rate to the technomancer. Possibly even Mysticism and one of the science skills. I'd suggest that as a benefit instead of making mysticism be keyed to intelligence.

Does this have Mage Armor as a spell for Technomancers?

I was wondering this myself. I logged in and was thinking about ordering it since I would rather have it as a hard copy instead of PDF files and am disappointed that it isn't available. Maybe they were having some corrections done and took it down until they get those done.

We had to make a correction to the credits. It's a minor thing, but we need to have it right. However, uploading a new POD file automatically takes down the old one, so there's a gap until the new files are approved for sale.
It'll be up again for print sales soon!

Hey, since there's been a couple of updates to this book, is there a list of changes anywhere?

There is not, though the most recent update was just an adjustment to the credits.

So while looking through the Starfarer's Companion, there is mention in the Feats index of a feat called "Practiced Translator"... but I can't find it when looking through it.

It was removed in development, but we missed the mention of it in the feat index. I'll make a note for potential errata. Thanks!
Customer avatar
Thomas B September 18, 2017 1:35 am UTC
Aw, that would have been a very appropriate feat for one character. Was it deemed too powerful, or was it for some other reason it was removed?

It stole thunder from the Xenoseeker theme's "quick pidgin" ability. We don't want to invalidate official material with our third-party supplements. :)

I'd like to add my 2 cents to voice my desire to see write-ups for Sorcerer, Summoner, & Witch, at least. Proper Druids and Monks as well would be awesome.

And let me say that the Companion is most excellent. Great adaptations for some of the classes that got left out. Definitely a must-have for Starfinder players that want more continuity with Pathfinder.

There are lots of classes we hope to get to! But we want to see how these hold up in actual play before we do a lot more classes all at once.
But those are all on the list!

Owen/RGG, can you include the table of content in the preview? I want to get a sense of the ship rules. ie. What type of optional rules are included (ie. any cloaking option). Also, who many pregen ships are we looking at?

thx!

I'm shook, the amount of content that this book offers is nice. I'm confused though does this mean they aren't going to release any of these as playable races in the future, for Paizo legal Society play? Or is this book just a third party that has no concrete ties, to the future plans of content that Paizo is going to release for Starfinder? I'm really shaking, pregen Starships and Computers, I'm picking this up next pay period.

Matthew and I wrote the book without knowledge of what Paizo will or will not do in the future. Matthew Morris and I simply wrote what we knew Starfinder WOULDN'T have at launch so people who like that sort of content can have it. Owen is really good at keeping his different hats in the dark about one another.

If you haven't bought other 3pp for pathfinder I understand your confusion. Since this isn't official there's no way that this book will affect future production plans for starfinder. However, this is biggest supplement that is ever produced for that franchise up to date and more importantly it is made by most respected and succesful producers in this industry. I couldn't gurantee it my self but it's really worth checking it out yourself. :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
