100 Dragons
Publisher: Lee's Lists
by Nicholas D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 09/12/2017 19:05:05

The Good: Decent for writer's block, or the need to whip up an on the spot monster! A lot of inspiration from 'real world' myths, so it's also great if you want to flavor a game inspired by such a setting.

The Bad: Rather bare bones, and you could just as likely find this information on Google.

Conclusion: Decent for what it is, but I'd get it on sale, even at this price.

Men & Monsters of Ethiopia: An RPG Sourcebook for 5th Edition
Publisher: Skirmisher Publishing
by Nicholas D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 09/12/2017 18:59:42

The Good: Flavor and stats for a few creatures and NPCs which is always good if it means I don't have to make them myself!

Some of the entries are really pretty unique. I especially like the Brown Dragon addition to the Chromatic Dragons. I'd go so far as to say that this is all you needed if you were simply looking to run a historical campaign based around Ethiopia!

Over all not too terribly priced, but in any case I bought it on sale.

The Bad: While I understand that according to myth they are accurate, but certain monsters seemed just silly like the Unipod or whatever, just kind of absurd.

On another note, there were one or two copies of creatures that are already a part of the Monster Manuals and Volo's Guide

Even further, some entries specifically state to use the appropriate Monster Manual entry! Lacking in content to truly call itseld a source 'book'.

Conclusion: Totally worth it if you can buy it on sale, but I wouldn't pay more than a 5 spot to be honest. 4 stars because of the price I payed really.

Date Added: 09/12/2017 14:32:31

The Good: Nicely made and rather convenient, especially in a pinch! If you can find the right print shop, you can make a set for you and any players that might need one!

The Bad: I really had no issues with these cards!

Conclusion: Anything that can make a DM's life even a bit easier is great in my book!

Nerzugal's Game Master Toolkit
Publisher: Nerzugal Role-Playing
by Nicholas D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 09/12/2017 14:30:24

The Good: Purchased the hardcover book earlier in the year and thus far have gotten a good amount use out of it, especially on the side of Monsters.

I enjoy the feel of the non-glossy pages, but I will admit that one should practice caution on those late night planning sessions. I've spilled plenty a characterising stain on DM Guide and Monster Manual but yet as of yet my GM Toolkit is safe! Can't imagine the material will play nice with water!

The puzzles are great, and stump even some of my more savvy players! Even loaned my copy to a fellow DM as he was in love with 'What's In A Name'.

I've still yet to run the one-shot dungeons, but on paper they all look great! But I did re-tool the alchemist scenario into a Vampire/Drug Den and it worked woderfully in a city setting! Everything is well documented organized and structured, and it's easy to find what you're looking for.

It also came with a PDF!!

The Bad: There was a glaring printing error in my copy as the first few pages were from a book on Native American history, though this is likely the fault of the publisher, not the author.

Several spelling errors and other grammatical issues, not a huge issue if you're not a stickler for that kind of things.

Conclusion: If I could buy it again with no errors of any kind? I would probably do so.
