Wonderfully grim setting with a simple system. The bastard child of Call of Cthulhu and D&D is a true spiritual successor to WFRP.

Loved it.

Not so much a full adventure in itself as the bare bones of one. It comes with a series of characters, major plot events and (my personal favourite) a selection of possible plot twists you can introduce to try and throw those clever players. <br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: It's a solid basic scenario with some wonderful suggestions for twists and sequels. Think 'rough diamond' - it'll be great with some work.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: If you try and run it as in the PDF it's gonna be pretty dull.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

This is just a classic Deadlands module and one you will want to put your characters through - albeit once they've notched up a fair amount of experience. It has some great set piece fights (the final battle is unforgettable), some racing through the wilderness and finally some good, old-fashioned detective work.

Ghost Busters is very much in the Deadlands canon so you may have a bit of work setting it up (follows on from the events in 'Doomtown Or Bust' and played out in the CCG) but you get a bit of primer info at the start which is invaluable if, like me, you didnt knwo the background when you got it. <br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Pretty much everything, as adventures go it's right near the top of the list!<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Really need to know about the events in 'Doomtown Or Bust' to do it justice.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

When I heard about Weird Wars I imagined Deadlands in WW2 - fantastic!

However, on purchase I discovered that Weird Wars is a very different animal indeed. It's not Deadlands canon and is only faintly related to the theme - the horrors are summoned up by the Nazis more often than being generated by people's fears. Similarly the supernatural magic and horror is kept on the backburner and underplayed.

I'm not saying that this product is bad. Far from it, if you want a D20 WW2 system you could do a LOT worse than this. It's just that if you buy this expecting what you have seen from Deadlands and Hell On Earth then you may well be dissapointed.
