In general, I really liked these adventures, however, I had a couple of isues with them.
The bad:
First, some of the encounters seemed difficult for a first level party, especially one with a lot of melle. Exploding magmin and mephits darn near wiped out my players, despite them taking them out one at a time (after the first incident of everyone almost getting blown up). There just isn't enough healing available between short rests for that much AoE, in my opinion. Also the greed motes were pretty much one shotting people that failed their poison saves, which, as the GM, was alarming.
Additionally, for all that, the rewards were somewhat uninspiring, considering the party was basically stealing the horde of the dragon cult.
The good:
- The ghaleb dhur encounter is awesome and just the right mix of comic relief.
- The miniature goblin swarm is one of the most memorable low level encounters I've ever DM'ed.
- The puzzles seem just about the exact right difficulty and my players were super excited to figure them out.
