Exactly what I was expecting/hoping for. Great value for the amount of work that went into these. Thanks!

This is the gold (platinum?) standard for RPG lore. I absolutely love these books, and the summaries on DriveThruRPG. Thank you, Shannon!

I feel a tremendous sense of joy every time I see one of these maps fly across my social feeds. I'm proud to support Dyson Logos on Patreon, and am tremendously grateful for his skill and generosity. These maps are glorious. I have used them in games, and ordered them on products from his redbubble store.
Thank you for everything you do!

Super easy to install. Just double-click it and install (in macOS) and then be surprised at how some of the letters overlap each other. Then read the included instructions and be blown away by the level of time and care that must have been put into developing these fonts.
The instructions explain how to use upper and lower case characters to stack some of the hieroglyphs. I will say that using the angle brackets is not quite as straightforward as I'd like. I'd really appreciate even more examples in the documentation, including situations where there are an odd number of stackable letters (for example).
But, really, WOW, such an incredible collection and a wonderful value.
(I'm also very much interested in your upcoming Mac version of TextJiggler).
Thank you!

Thank you very much for the kind review! I'm always glad to get feedback, especially about the fonts.
As it happens, I'm going to be updating a lot of the font documentation over the next few months (unless the universe conspires against me again) and I'll be sure, when I get to Hieroglyphica, to put in more examples. That should help with using the features, which I admit can be a bit confusing. And I definitely need to get the Mac version of TextJiggler out. It definitely makes setting up for Medu and Glyphic much easier, since it manages the stacked characters.
By the way, I have successfully printed on actual papyrus with an inkjet printer. (you can get papyrus off Amazon) Make sure it's absolutely flat -- I pressed mine under a stack of books for a couple of weeks -- and have your printer print somewhat lighter than normal, to minimize ink spread. It seems to spread more in the darker reeds than the lighter ones. Technically, of course, one would expect heiratic or demotic on papyrus, but hieroglyphic looks really good anyway, and makes a great game handout. Just in case someone reading this is likely to try: do *not* do this on a laser printer, or if you're lucky, you'll be peeling bits of delaminated papyrus reeds off your fuser with tweezers; if you're not lucky, the whole apparatus will catch on fire. |

This is the stuff of nightmares.
It's also a very useful and accessible collection and a tremendous value for creators.
Love the selection of devils and demons and the Balrog in particular.

I have a soft spot for old-school D&D books. I’ve got a sprawling collection of Basic, 1E, 4E, and now 5E books as well as Labyrinth Lord, OSRIC, Basic Fantasy RPG, Sword & Sorcery, and more.
Every time I discover a new clone, or a new spin on a classic RPG I try to find print copies on eBay or Print-on-Demand on DriveThruRPG. I’m constantly amazed at the level of effort people put into recreating OGL versions of these games from decades ago. Some of them are — if you set aside nostalgia for the originals — better than the originals.
After spending some time reading the B/X books I can honestly say these are among them. The materials are organized better than the originals, and very much more readable and usable. The layout is professional, and the art is quite good. The pages are largely black and white (like the original books) with tasteful use of color highlights to make the tables more readable.
I love collecting high-grade original D&D books, but I can see using these at the table as much, or maybe even more often than, the books they were inspired by.
(These books are a smaller digest format than most classic D&D books. Still, the type is large enough to read and the smaller size makes them really convenient. The price — even for the higher quality print-on-demand — is affordable. You won’t regret grabbing the whole set.)
