My friend purchased this scenario and we played it over the weekend. What a great time! We had so much fun that I had to purchase it for myself as well. It took us about 5 1/2 hours to play, but that included character creation (which was great, by the way - more on that below). All in all, our group of 7 had an absolute blast (the game says it supports up to 6, we played with 7 - including the GM - and it worked out fine).

Some highlights of why we loved it:

• Character creation - The author provides some starting info for the characters (names, focus, descriptor, type, etc.) then you get to customize the rest. It made it easy, especially with 2 new players, while still giving us ways to personalize play style.
• Creepy factor to the extreme! It definitely has a Lovecraftian theme to it, which my group definitely enjoyed, but it's definitely NOT a "cthulhu" game. The story is really self-contained and focuses on the events of Credemore.
• Roleplaying! The story really lets the players take point and roleplay the heck out of it. Why are we going in THAT room? What are we going to find? Should we just burn this place down and run away screamingt? Great room for fun, exciting debate.
• The scare (I think it's called "shock" maybe?) mechanic was fun too. By the end, we were actually both terrified and exciting about going into new rooms! One of the group actually was one roll away from just going absolutely insane.
• The included cyphers were a lot of fun too – they made all of us laugh a number of times.
• The ENDING! Oh man, you just need to play it yourself and wait until the GM gets to the end… That’s all I say about that.

Some things to watch out for:

• While I’m sure novice GMs could handle it, the scenario is probably best suited for a more experienced GM to really make the story amazing. This scenario is really story based and a really great GM will make the spooky factor that much spookier. Just mt 2 cents.

Overall 5 of 5 stars. Can’t wait to see what this author publishes next!
