This was, in my opinion, the best low-level module ever published from a DMs perspective. Later modules were layed out better in many ways. Also, later modules helped with exactly what to say to players much better. However, this module taught a DM how to make a campaign environment come alive so it was not just one adventure after another without any real impact on or interaction with the world around it. Those skills developed running this adventure made me a DM other players wanted to have run their games and those same skills helped me develop the settings for other modules, my own worlds for D&D, and, later, for other games.
