Just purchased this. I'm looking to run a Last Kids on Earth campaign for my son and his friends and so far this is a great for that. You mentioned in an interview that Pets rules would be in the guide. A dog companion is non-negotiable for my kid. I find lots about playing as animals but nothing on a player having a pet/companion. Did I miss it?

Hey Grady!

Unfortunately, Pet rules did not make the cut into the book (and I can't go back and edit an interview that's no longer accurate sadly!) Tiny Dungeon 2e has Animal Companion rules however, and they are easily compatible.

As an apology, if you email shipping@gallantknightgames.com I'll copy you a PDF of the Tiny Dungeon 2e Player's Guide which will have those rules.

What about a smaller player's guide, as Tiny Dungeon, without settings' stuff?

I ran a con one-shot last Saturday and we all had a great time. The group of 6 consisted of veteran and first-time players and everyone learned the system in a few minutes. We made characters together and I was mostly happy with the results. One of the veterans immediately noticed some chances to power-game and created a mutant martial artist with bulging muscles and other combat traits/mutations, which seemed a little unbalanced compared to the other characters, but in the end it still worked out pretty well.

For a campaign I'd say the mutation list should be a lot longer, though. With a little creativity you can easily come up with your own, but a more extensive and diverse list would have been appreciated even for the one-shot as the list has a focus on combat mutations.

Anyway, I'm glad I backed this on KS and can recommend it (just like the other Tiny D6 games, btw)!

I was currious to see how you would pull of the heritage feature in TW, and the archetype selection makes really sens.

I have two question : first can you use both heritage and archetype ? and do you plan to make archetype list for specific scifi genre as a TF addon, like cyberpunk genre, or a human only type of setting for both TD and TF ?

thanks for your answers.

Hey!

Thanks for the kind words.

So Archetypes and Heritages fulfill the same role in the game in a mechanical sense. Our design stance is that in "human"-centric settings, Archetypes define the characters, but in a less human-kind centric world (like Tiny Dungeon), we'll use Heritages.

They're not meant to be stacked.

Hey!

We don't have any specific plans, but we'll look into it as a possibility! Tiny Cyberpunk is an upcoming book, and will be a full book like Tiny Wastelands!

At this time, nothing more than "it'll be coming eventually". Other products are ahead of it in the pipeline.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
