WANT TO BRING BACK SOME OF THAT OLD-TIME RELIGION TO YOUR OLD SCHOOL ROLEPLAYING GAME?

Divinities and Cults: Volume I covers the gods and goddesses of the Greek and Norse Pantheons, as well as a number of Evil Cults. It provides detailed tenets, special cleric considerations, magical side-effects, numerous divine tests, and custom spell lists for all 19 of them. What is more, optional rules and random tables abound, organized by divinity of course. This excellent book is compatible with the various Old School Editions and their 'Retro-clones', especially Labyrinth Lord™!

Inside you will find:

  • Detailed rules for playing clerics of 8 Greek and 7 Norse gods and goddesses, including Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Dionysus, Freya, Hel, Hera, Loki, Odin, Pan, Poseidon, Skadi, Thor, Tyr, and Zeus
  • Full rules for also playing clerics of 4 Evil Cults, including Maelfo, R'ti, Tezshnaz, & Unharmonia
  • 20 pieces of unique artwork
  • 15 random encounter tables
  • Over 15 new monsters
  • Other optional rules & sidebar sections
  • And much more!

Is a combined print version of D&C still in the works? Any anticipated release date that can be shared?

I've made it available again for Volume I, but will likely phase it out once I update the pdf in the near future. Finding an expert to redo the print formatting has been tricky.

No plans on doing OSRIC versions since it's so similar to Labyrinth Lord.

Im not a Labyrinth Lords expert, but I thought the Armor Class was 9 for an unarmored person and it stages down from there into the negative numbers. Why are there people with AC way over 9. The Valkyrie on page 22 for example is AC 18. Yet other entries on other pages have ACs of 6 or -2. Is this a system transference typo?

Good catch! Yes, a couple seem to be left over from the conversion from DCC RPG. I'll make sure to fix them in the next revision.

A couple of questions here. How often do the Divine tests happen? daily? by level? what? also is there any plan to make images for the holy symbols? nothing color just what a wooden holy symbol might look like and possibly a coloring book type image.

Thank you Dan O. For the holy symbols I was thinking of line art that can be printed on character sheets and folders for conventions.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
