It's been most of another year since the question was asked ... if/when might we see PDFs of your books ?

And, can you you provide a list of all of the AD&BB books that are available ? Since they appear to be coming from multiple publishers I figure I should ask so I don't miss any ... I see a Dagon edition & an extended edition, and a non-extended edition, and now vol 2 ... so, what's what ?

Hey Jeff, there are two volumes from Shinobi 27 Games. The first volume, Extended, Otherworldly edition is available in three different formats. 2 softcovers A4 size. One with Hecate on the cover and one with Dagon. There is also a hardback version of the same book called Dagon Hardcover Edition. The two softcovers are identical except for the cover art. The Dagon hardcover has different layout for the different size. The Extended, Otherworldly Edition was a re-release of a smaller book Angels, Daemons and Beings Between by Dragons Hoarde games. I released it as print only as the previous publisher retained the digital rights and only let me release a print version. The print version is bigger with more content. Okay that's it for Volume 1.

Volume 2 is brand new, I have complete print and digital rights. It is only available as a hardcover as that was the best seller for Volume 1. They look great as a set. It is also available as a PDF.

Hi David, I had the same question, and your answer cleared it up. But might you consider releasing the portion of this that isn't duplicated in the original version as a PDF? That way, those who bought the original 13 patrons for $6 in the PDF wouldn't have to pay $20 to get those 13 all over again plus the 11 new ones -- basically spending $26 in the process.

Why are the softcover printings of this in A4 and the hardcover edition in 8.5"x11"? Are there any differences in layout?

All of Shinobi 27 Games' books are A4 except for the hardcovers. The layout is different due to the size difference - art pieces may be bigger or uncropped and at times in different locations in the A4 softcovers. The book was basically made twice to accommodate the two formats. Hope this helps.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
