Incoming Intelligence Brief, Captain!

It is often said that war is 90% information and, in 24th century Clement Sector, it is no different.  While most governments have intelligence agencies which provide this sort of information, the general public relies on Wendy's Naval Weekly as the premier source of naval information.  Most starship captains have Wendy's Naval Weekly on their handcomps or mindcomps.

Based on Cascadia, with offices established on all the major worlds of each subsector, Wendy’s Naval Weekly has continued to publish monthly reports and annual summaries on naval development, technologies and defense news throughout the entirety of Clement Sector since the Collapse event ten years ago.

Wendy’s Guide to the Fleets of Franklin Subsector is the third of a series that collates all available information to provide a comprehensive overview of Clement Sector navies and their fleets.  Each book will focus on a single subsector.  Each of these books will briefly outline a system’s navy or defense force, provide some insight to how that organization functions and provide a list of the ships or in-system vessels that are reported to be in commission.

Now that information is available to you!

This book provides information on all of the fleets of Franklin Subsector, every ship currently operated in those fleets, doctrines, and even their uniforms.  The book also contains an in-depth discussion of the Ledford-class Frigate operated by the Tal'Kalares Royal Navy providing all of the detail you've come to expect from our Ships of Clement Sector series.

For some reason these books are hard to open in Adobe on Android. This one won't open beyond blank pages at all. All the other books I buy from Drivethru open OK. It must be the coding. It only happens with these Traveller sector supplements.

I'll look into it. I've no idea why you'd be having this problem.

I believe that I have tracked down the issue. I believe the watermarking process used by DTRPG may be causing some problems on some platforms and several of our older PDFs were set to use that process.

I've since turned it off for this product. Please d/l it again from your library and see if it still has issues. Please let me know if you continue to have problems.

Thanks!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
