I just got the standard color print copy and will say the game deservers a premium color edition. the art isnt done nearly enough justice with "standard" colors. it will make a great table play book regardless, still, would like to see it in premium as well

Will there be a hardcover of this available at some point? I'm looking to buy just one Tiny D6 game to try out the system. But I am struggling. None of the games seem to be complete, fully edited, fully finished, etc. except Tiny Dungeons, which is the one I am least interested in.

What Tiny D6 game should I buy if I'm looking to dip my toes in?

I bought Tiny Pirates, but that one seems to be unfinished and somewhat abandoned by the publisher. I'm lost.

The hardcover for this will be available. It's under-going an errata update which requires reproofing the book.

Tiny Pirates is certainly not abandoned by the publisher (as the publisher, I would know!) However, if you feel the games are incomplete, it's possible the mechanical presentation and design ideas we're presenting might not be the right fit for what you are looking for? Not every game works for everyone, and sometimes TinyD6 isn't the right fit!

I'm confused about the Proficient/Mastered weapons. Nowhere does it explain how many Mastered weapons you're supposed to be able to have; the only System that specifies that you make a Mastered attack is the Kinetic Drillsaw. This seems like a pretty big oversight.

Hi Dylan!

If Mecha & Monsters: Evolved is your only TinyD6 game, I can certainly see how that'd be confusing. Let me try to clarify (and this should have been a sidebar, we'll have to add it to our errata list):

In a standard TinyD6 game, characters decide on a proficient weapon group, and a mastered weapon inside that group (such as "one-handed melee" and then "longsword", or something similar). In M&M:E, the proficiency is determined by the system (as you already alluded to), not by a selection. So while the proficient/mastered paradigm still exists, the need of the game to balance the higher damage output attack opens in systems/evolutions, means there are far less mastered attacks than a standard TinyD6 game.

The text is there due to it's innate nature in the TinyD6 design eco-system, but the unique design paradigm of M&M:E inside the TinyD6 system means it is text that isn't as prevalent as it is in every other book.

I see. I am familiar with TinyD6 a bit through Tiny Dungeon 2e, but I didn't want to make any assumptions about rules carrying over.

So, let me just make sure I'm understanding this right:

-All mecha are Proficient with Light Melee and Light Ranged thanks to the Basic Weapons system. By default all mecha are not Proficient in any Heavy weapon; they gain a Heavy weapon proficiency through a Weapon System (of the ones in the book, that would be Antimatter Missiles, BGS, Kinetic Drillsaw, Main Cannon, Retractable Sword or Thermal Lance; notably a couple of the melee ones specify that they're one-handed, but I guess that overrides the two hands rule?).

-The only Mastered weapon attack in the game besides homebrew is Kinetic Drillsaw. There is no other way short of homebrew to get Master Proficiency on an attack in M&M:E.

Is that correct?

Without reviewing every system mentioned, that is on a basic level, correct.

There will be expansions eventually, and the assumption is that more mastered systems/evolutions will eventually show up!

Errata I found. The swarm missile and Kaiju Spore missiles are meant to be equivalent. However, Kaiju spore missiles can do more damage. I would delete the spore missile line about each 2 that hit do +1 damage.

Also, the combiner text on page 57 says, “Each System or Evolution can only be used once per turn, however, just like normal.” Uh, wait a sec? Where did it say that every ability can only be used once? I know heavy weapons can only be used once, but light weapons, sensors, and movement systems too? I like the idea of that, but it’s not in the rulebook anywhere else.

Also, no rules for advancement? Experience points? Leveling up?

Oh good grief. Multiple edits, from multiple sources, and we all missed that (and the one below.) We'll be getting that sorted. ASAP, as well as getting an errata/clarification sheet up.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
